Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of War Horse has prompted a surge in ticket demand for the theatrical version.
It appears film fans are “cantering” to theatreland to compare the film to the National Theatre production, according to the Europe’s largest ticket operator.
Searches for the show, currently playing at the New London Theatre, have doubled on viagogo’s website in the last 72 hours. It makes War Horse the most popular theatre production based on demand.
Ed Parkinson of viagogo UK said: “The recent “Royal” buzz around the film release has reinvigorated ticket demand for this award winning production, with film fans cantering to theatreland to compare the stage performance to the big screen.”
War Horse opens in UK cinemas this weekend and stars Jeremy Irvine, a former contributor to Fourthwall Magazine.
