Sir Terry back on the Radio 2 airwaves

Weekend Wogan will be broadcast live from the Radio Theatre in the BBC's Broadcasting House in London. The show will feature a lively mix of celebrity interviews, music with star guest performers and contributions from listeners, all staged in front of a 300-strong live audience.

In the first programme of the series, Sir Ian McKellen, star of the multi-award winning Lord Of The Rings trilogy and the eagerly awaited film The Hobbit and who is currently performing in the West End production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot, will be chatting with Terry and there will also be musical performances from the UK’s biggest-selling jazz artist of all time, Jamie Cullum, and Grammy Award-winning songstress Norah Jones.

Wogan hung up his weekday headphones in December following 17 years at breakfast. Wake Up To Wogan ended on a high with 8.10 million listeners tuning in to his show every week during the last quarter of 2009, matching his previous record reach.

You can catch Sir Terry at 11am on Radio 2 (88-91 FM).

  1. I used to listen to Sir Terry on the way to work and Chris Evans on the way home. Since Sir Terry left and Chris took over I haven’t know whether I’m coming or going!

I can now listen to Sir T’s whole programme, yeah!! It will make the ironing seem almost pleasurable.
