The world's most popular male voice choir, Only Men Aloud, are inviting the public to watch them at work as they prepare for their upcoming national tour.
The choir – many of whom are past and present Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama students – will be rehearsing at the school. They will then give a special performance of Happy Birthday to celebrate the College's 60th birthday as part of the Open House celebrations.
The College is marking its 60th anniversary in 2009 with a year's worth of celebrations. These will culminate in an Open House day at the College, and an opportunity to go behind the scenes at Wales' National Conservatoire and Drama School.
The day will feature a range of activities including backstage, college and hard hat tours, music recitals, playback of radio dramas, stage combat demonstrations and acting masterclasses.
The day will feature a range of activities including backstage, college and hard hat tours, music recitals, playback of radio dramas, stage combat demonstrations and acting masterclasses. There will also be opportunities to wonder at giant paper sculptures, enjoy performances from your favourite musicals or take part in a studio recording session.
For the musicians amongst you, there'll be a change to play a Steinway Grand piano, try a brass instrument or bang some drums, while those looking to glam up could try on some of our amazing collection of costumes. Interactive workshops will allow you to create your own composition and there will be a special Department Six exhibition of original art from the Doctor Who series.
When you've done all that, you can rest your feet with a cup of tea and refreshments and enjoy the beauty of the Julian Bream Collection of paintings in our Weston Gallery.
