Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze has died at the age of 57. The star of Dirty Dancing had battled pancreatic cancer for the last two years.
Swayze announced his illness last year. It was widely reported that the actor had just weeks to live. He continued to work during his illness, filming popular cable TV series The Beast about a retired FBI agent.
When the star of Ghost went public, he indicated that statistics meant he probably had about two years to live.
Swayze took to the West End stage in 2006, playing Nathan Detroit in the successful revial of Guys and Dolls.
Stars across the globe have paid tribute to the star.
