The renowned actor Corin Redgrave took ill at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning and died peacefully with his family around him.
A statement released by his family today, said: “Will miss him so very much. We would like to thank St George's hospital for their care in his last few days.”
Redgrave contracted prostate cancer in 2000 and in 2005 he suffered a heart attack during a political rally. The setback didn't stop the actor getting back on stage however, performing in Trumbo at Jermyn Street Theatre.
He won an Olivier for Not About Nightingales in 1998 and enjoyed a luminous stage and screen career. He trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama.
Heartfelt condolences for the sad loss of Corin Redgrave
